| Many
years ago a man Ismaeel Herqali by name, was living in the city
of Hulla In the time of his youth, he had a very deep wound
on his left leg (thigh). Puss and blood had been continutiously
coming out. It was so painful that Ismaeel had lost his tolerance
to a greater extent, and was very seriously thinking as to what to
do. Ultimately it was decided that he should go to Sayed lbne
Tauoos, the greatest learned man of the time among the Shias
of those days and put up the case before him. |

He, therefore,
one day went to Sayed lbne Tauoos. Sayed asked about his health
whereupon he replied that he has an injury on his left thigh which
has made him so restless that he had come to him with great difficulty
and it is quite possible that he would very soon succumb to it.
Sayed on hearing the lamentation and painful story of Ismaeel became
very much sad. He called upon all the surgeons of the city and consulted
them regarding the treatment. All the surgeons one after another
came to the conclusion that this injury is on one of the main veins
and therefore operation is in no way safe and possible. If it is
done so, the vein would be cut off and might take the life of Ismaeel.
